Request Options

Paw has some options on a per-request basis.

Timeout¶

By default, requests never time out. You can set a custom timeout in seconds.

Redirections¶

Follow Redirects¶

By default, Paw does not follow HTTP redirections to let you know that the initial response was a redirection. You can optionally enable redirections.

Note that you can always see intermediate responses by moving forward and backwards in the response history using the ::doc::`keyboard shortcuts </advanced/shortcuts>` `⌥⌘↓` and `⌥⌘↑`.

Redirect Authorization¶

If you enable “Follow Redirects”, you can also choose to send the the Authorization header to the new redirection requests.

Redirect Original Method¶

According to RFC2616 section 10.3 “The [redirection] action required MAY be carried out by the user agent without interaction with the user if and only if the method used in the second request is GET or HEAD.”. You can override this behavior and redirect requests using their original method by checking this option.

Cookies¶

Automatically Send Cookies¶

Automatically sends back cookies received in previous responses. Paw will add a Cookie header to your request containing the cookies that matches the request Host, Path, and with a matching Expires date, Is Secure flag, etc.

Cookies are stored in the Cookie Jar.

Store Received Cookies¶

If checked, Paw will store cookies received in responses in the Cookie Jar so they can be sent back in further requests.
