This article shows you a few tips on composing an API request with Paw. You can also learn the different options you have to visualize the response and watch the screencast to get a full overview of Paw’s interface.

Create a new request and give it a name

Add a request by clicking the plus button on the bottom left or using a shortcut ⇧⌘N and double click on the request to give it a name.

Set request method, paste URL and add parameters

You can choose one of the given HTTP verbs or set a custom one. Easily add URL parameters by pasting names and values in the “URL Params” section. They will then be automatically added to the URL.

To set the type of the request click on “GET” in the URL field

You can add headers, body or set the custom options for your request.

Once you start typing a header, Paw will suggest autocomplete options

Now you can preview the HTTP message, generate client code or add notes for the request.

When your request is ready to be sent click the “Send Request” button or use the keyboard shortcut ⌘⏎.

Click the “Send Request” button

To send your request again click the arrow in the URL field
